Accessibility statement

This handbook is about accessibility, so the site itself is built to meet the standard it teaches.

Our commitment

We are committed to making this content usable by everyone, including people with disabilities and older adults. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 / 2.2 Level AA.

How this site is built

  • Semantic HTML with landmarks, a skip link, and a logical heading order.
  • Full keyboard operability with a visible focus indicator.
  • Text contrast of at least 4.5:1, and content that reflows to a 320 px screen and to 400% zoom without loss.
  • Descriptive alt text on images; tables with real headers; the interactive checklist is a labelled, screen-reader-friendly form.
  • Every page is generated from one accessible source and checked with the axe accessibility engine (0 automated violations at build time).

Known limitations

  • Arabic translation of some chapters is still in progress.
  • Automated testing finds only part of all issues, so we also test by keyboard and screen reader — if you hit a barrier we have missed, please tell us.
